Temporary Delivery Driver

JOB TITLE: Delivery Driver (temporary, 3 months)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Dispensary Manager

JOB SUMMARY: To provide a caring, friendly and efficient service delivery medication to the patients of Ixworth Surgery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST:

Collate dispensed prescriptions for home delivery

Load van (provided by the surgery)

Deliver medication to patients and provide any relevant information

Other Delegated Duties

SPECIFIC TASKS:

1) Collate Dispensed Prescriptions for home delivery

. Check home delivery book for required deliveries each day

. Collate medication to fulfil delivery schedule

. Liaise with colleagues and Dispensary Manager

. Ensure work station is in a clean and tidy state

2. Load van

. Load van with prescriptions to be delivered

. Keep van in a clean and tidy state and report and maintenance issues

. Ensure van is locked at all times when unattended

3. Deliver Medication

. Deliver medication to patients home or nominated drop off site in accordance with pharmacy standard operating procedures

. Ensure medication is signed for.

4. Other delegated duties

To undertake any other delegated duties reasonably considered appropriate to the post

Special Requirements of the post

1. Smart, tidy appearance.

2. Clean full driving license.

3. An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality

4. An ability to use judgement, resourcefulness, common sense and tact to respond appropriately to the needs of the post

5. Excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone

6. A flexible approach to the position in order to provide support for other team members

7. Ability to ask for help and use the knowledge of the Senior Team for support

8. To be logical, self-motivated, resourceful and attentive to detail

9. Able to use own initiative

• Delivery driver experience: 1 year (preferred)
• Driving: 1 year (preferred)
