Position Overview & Specifications

he Role

We are currently looking for a Warehouse and recycling operative to join our team in Scunthorpe

The shift patterns for this position would be:

Working: Monday to Friday 6am -2pm / 2pm - 10pm

You will work as part of a team to carry out all waste and recycling processes for the site. You will provide great service to our clients by ensuring that standards are maintained through adherence to the segregation of various waste streams on site. You will have high standards of cleanliness naturally and take pride in the work that you do.

You will report to the Site Manager

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the yard and recycling area
  • Adhere to all ISM and client health and safety rules and requirements
  • Wear any required personal protective equipment (PPE) or site-specific clothing as directed
  • General warehouse cleaning and maintenance with use of machines (full training will be provided)
  • Appropriate recycling and disposal of all waste from store returns
  • To ensure all waste is segregated and disposed of correctly
  • Carry out daily and weekly waste removal and recycling tasks and record as required
  • Operate baling equipment
  • Report anything in need of repair or replacement
  • Maintain good relations with client staff, contractors and visitors to the site
  • May be asked to carry out other tasks as may be required by the Area Manager to fulfil client or ISM requirements
  • To be responsible for unloading, sorting and re-allocation of returns within the site
  • To be responsible for recycling return stock as directed by the Supervisor and Area Manager

Skills Required

  • Work on their own initiative and organise their own time as they will be managed remotely
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
  • React to feedback appropriately to provide great service to customers
  • Good attention to detail to deliver high standards
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential to communicate with customers and managers and comply with Health & Safety regulations.

Experience

  • Previous experience of recycling and waste management is desired, but not essential
  • The ability to learn, and the capability to develop skills further
