The role

IDC are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled student who can assist in delivering creative and technical output.

• Designing & developing technical product solutions across a wide range of products, from concept through to production ready.
• Creative and technical idea generation based on preliminary research and sound engineering principles
• Supplier liaison, prototyping and testing
• Concept brainstorming and detailed design from concept to production with high attention to detail
• 3D CAD modelling (Solidworks)

You are:

• Motivated, curious and passionate about design & engineering
• A creative, collaborative and flexible team-player
• Able to think broadly to generate ideas and develop a justified point of view
• Able to present clearly and concisely and explain design and engineering decisions
• A hands-on engineer happy at a CAD station or in the prototype workshop
• A go-getter with a passion for understanding how things work

This is a paid, fixed-term placement which will run for one year from Summer 2023.

This role is best suited for a student who is currently studying and looking for a one year work placement.
