We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Production Shift Manager.
Main duties & responsibilities include:
· Advocate and enforce the company policies and procedures incorporating a firm but fair approach towards discipline.
· Lead and engage with all Production employees
· Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity, with minimal downtime.
· Ensure all employees are following standard health & safety guidelines and the good housekeeping policy
· Manage and schedule the throughput of the production department
· Report on production related process performance
· Look for opportunities to develop operators and to assist in offering training, development and support.
· Forge a close supportive relationship with your team
· Liaise with the Production Manager and Engineering Manager regarding scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs
· Ensure that Operators holidays and pay are correct with the Mitrefinch system
· Keep close control on holidays and staffing so all shifts are manned correctly and within the budget
· Look at current state data to identify areas of weakness in terms of skill levels and performance
· Work towards best-in-class mentality with the 3 lens approach
· Uphold factory standards in line with BRC standards, aim for audit readiness
· Gain a larger understanding of business need from a sales and service level point of view
· Have an understanding of Lean manufacturing and work on relevant projects with their teams
· Aim to improve the factory culture by setting standards and example
· Fully implement Short Interval Controls on shift with robust process confirmations
Person Specification:
· Experience of FMCG Environment
· Experience of power press machinery
· Management/supervisor experience within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of press machines and tools
