Shopify Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Shopify Developer to join our marketing team. You will be responsible for improving and maintaining our new website as well as performing various administrative tasks (such as adding new products) and implementing new code.

You will be working with our Head of Design to complete the current website build roadmap as well as testing the site and fixing any bugs.

Our website runs on an entirely bespoke Shopify theme and so you will need to have the knowledge and experience to build and maintain custom websites.

You need to have extensive and up-to-date knowledge of Shopify (Liquid), HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.

The right candidate will not only have excellent working knowledge of Shopify Development but they will also be adept at implementing Google tracking and analytics as well as any other plugins/technologies that are required to optimise the website.

Main responsibilities:

· Working with our designer to continue to build our recently updated Shopify website.

· Implementing new features using the supplied markup and your own code/logic.

· Maintaining our current Shopify website, fixing errors and improving the code.

· Investigating and troubleshooting problems.

· Adding/removing products. Updating pricing, descriptions, metafields etc.

· Improving SEO, maintaining standards etc.

Requirements

· 2+ years’ experience developing for commercial websites.

· Up to date knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.

· Experience working with CMS themes and plugins.

· Independent: you are self-motivated, take initiative, and are a strong communicator. You are results-driven and willing to learn and improve yourself.

· Experience and knowledge of mobile development and optimisation including responsive methodology.

· Visitor tracking, e.g. Cookies, GTM and Google Analytics.

· Exposure to JavaScript frameworks, e.g. Vue.js. React etc.

· A good understanding of Google Merchant Center as well as data feed management (eg. Channable).

· Google Ads experience preferable but not essential.

In order to be eligible for the position of Shopify Developer, it is essential that you possess prior experience of working with Shopify websites as well as being fully immersed in the world of ecommerce. The person we’re looking for is progress-focused with a respectful and collaborative approach. You are a great communicator, open to new ideas and an eternally curious learner.

We are the largest manufacturer and supplier of glitter products worldwide and constantly expanding our product lines and we only sell our own branded Hemway products.

You will be working at our office and warehouse building based in Gildersome, just outside Leeds.
