Packing Operative
Shift Pattern: Afternoon Shift
Monday - Thursday 2 pm - 10 pm
Friday 1 pm - 8 pm
Purpose of Role:
To pack bulk stock into finished goods efficiently in line with
the Packing plan.
Ensuring that the correct packing procedure is followed in line with S.O.P
and risk assessment for the department.
Responsibilities Include:
Health &Safety
- To conform with all company health & safety procedures.
- To report all near misses and accidents.
- To report all defective equipment.
- To ware all PPE when needed.
- To report and replace all defective PPE.
Daily Duties
- To check the scales are fully functional and weight correctly.
- To ensure the water system is set up correctly for each packing job.
- Ensure both bag and box label correspond with the product to be packed.
- To ensure the sealing machine is fully functional and sealing correctly.
- To ensure the bag counter is fully functional and counting correctly.
- Weigh and pack parts accurately to the correct number per bag required.
- Labelling of all packaging (bags and boxes etc)
- Ensuring that correct packing procedure is followed in line with S.O.P.
- Communication with team members to ensure product flow occurs efficiently and in a timely manner.
- All procedural disciplines are carried out correctly and safely. i.e. clearance of all parts/bags/boxes/labels etc of the previous job before new job begins.
- All housekeeping procedures/requirements are always maintained to a high standard.
- Additional duties to be performed as required by the Packing supervision team to meet business requirements within the department.
