Retail Assistant (Part-Time)

HG Gladwell & Sons have been trading from Copdock Mill near Ipswich for over 100 years. This family owned company is now one of the largest independent manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors in the South East of England. Our Head Office and flagship stores are based in Suffolk, East Anglia, with another 8 retail stores spread across Kent, Essex, Suffolk and Northamptonshire.

Part time Retail Assistant.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Gladwells Pet & Country Store Sandwich as Retail Assistant. Working 4 days out of 7, your main purpose will be assisting with the day to day running of our store,including breaking down stock delivery and loading customer orders. We cater for all animals, selling everything from wild bird feed to equine specialist nutrition, fishing rods, reels and bait so knowledge of/a passion for animals would be a key advantage.

Your hours of work would be between, 08.30 am and 17.30 pm Overtime may be offered subject to business demands.

Our Retail Team assists with sales and special orders for our customers, both in person at the store and via the telephone. Cash handling, Stock control and replenishment of goods are also an important part of day-to-day activities. You will need to be physically fit and able to cope with manual handling of boxes/bags weighing up to 25 Kg. Having a Current Forklift Licence would be an advantage but not essential.

Driving Licence is essential as there is no public transport to the site.

Salary: £7.49-£10.42 per hour
