Position Overview & Specifications
Trainee QS/ Junior QS:
A well-established residential building and refurbishment contractor is looking to add a hardworking trainee quantity surveyor. Gallery specialises in luxury residential refurbishment projects throughout central London. The successful candidate will join a tight knit team working closely with high level management within the company.
The company has a good pipeline of works and are offering a permanent, stable and long-term opportunity with great support and development prospects.
You will be working on projects from Pre - construction to handover whilst working in some of London’s most prestigious areas. Projects ranging from £500,000 - £2 + million and are usually High-End Residential renovations / Refurbishments. The role will include engaging with sub-contractors at tender stage. Working through drawings and establishing packages to be distributed to contractors.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Liaise with the project management team to select suitable sub-contractors.
- Working closely with directors to ensure quality and guidance
- Value, certify and issue any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.
- Agreeing final accounts with sub-contractors and deducting/adding any relevant costs.
- Liaise with the buying team to aid with a procurement schedule and analysis of costs.
- Produce valuations for each project, submitting them for directors to approve
- Manage and control any variations on site and agree with the client accordingly.
- Be able to provide financial reporting and analysis when required for the management team.
- To visit site and undertake any measures/or remeasures required.
- Attend site meetings and provide financial update to the client and design team throughout projects.
- Further qualification and training schemes welcome.
Essential Requirements for the Role:
- Excellent communication skills.
- 5 years minimum Quantity Surveyor experience.
- Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Hardworking, with an eye for detail
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £25,097.40-£40,000.00 per year
