Position Overview & Specifications

Freedom's Power / Networks team are looking for an additional Quantity Surveyor to be Yorkshire based - Hybrid working is available.

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, this role will support the business unit by managing the contractual and financial elements of projects undertaken within the Networks business. This includes large electrical and major standalone projects.

Main Duties:
  • Ensure timely Application for payments and invoicing.
  • Assisting Project managers in dealing with change control
  • Develop a full understanding of the company’s commercial management system. (Focal Point)
  • Work with Project Managers to discharge contract obligations
  • Resolve issues with contracts and commercial operations.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure contract scope change is identified and captured as well as anticipating and advising project managers where time related claims are evident.
  • Apply for variations to the client/ approve variations submitted by Sub-contractor
  • Issue payment certificates and Payless notices where appropriate
  • Raise purchase orders and helping with invoicing processes
  • Debt management and resolving commercial issues on debts.
  • Forecasting revenue
  • Agree Sub-contractor T&C’s and manage accounts
  • Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports.
  • Production and management of Cost forecasts.
  • Subcontractor Management
  • Identification and mitigation of project risk
  • Experience with the NEC3/4 suite of contracts
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar role - Essential
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft packages such as word, excel and outlook - Essential
  • A Well-developed understanding of various forms of contract, with the ability to apply these skills in a practical fashion to live projects - Essential
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or other related discipline (can be substituted by a relevant HNC and suitable experience); - Desirable
