Position Overview & Specifications
- Leading the monthly Demand Review meeting
- Create statistical unconstrained forecasts based on consolidated, cleansed, historical demand/sales data
- Enhance the statistical forecasts with market intelligence such as anticipated market growth or decline, market share, segment performance, customer contracts, competitor performance, price changes, customer allocation periods etc
- Working proactively and collaboratively with Commercial teams to deliver a consensus demand plan
- Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
- Contribute to the product portfolio optimisation process by providing statistical inventory and sales data, supported by product life cycle information, making recommendations for ongoing changes
- Provide input to the Supply Planning teams in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
- Evaluate ABC XYZ material classifications and in collaboration with Supply Planning teams, determine the stock profile (MTS/MTO/Buffered) for each SKU in each UK supply point
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of new Advanced Planning System software
- Any other duty as reasonably requested by the line manager
- Demonstratable knowledge of advanced forecasting practices and techniques
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, Power Pivot, relational databases, and ERP systems (ideally SAP)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High degree of objectivity in the face of conflicting demands
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven experience as a Demand Analyst or Demand Planner (ideally gained within the FMCG industry)
- Experience in a supply chain role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting
- Experience of stock replenishment and control within a multi-site environment
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a Mathematical or Supply Chain related subject
