Strategic Procurement Manager (Corporate)

Procurement at English Heritage is two years young, meaning you will join an evolving team covering sourcing, contracting, supplier management and spend analysis to optimise the way we manage third party expenditure. Your role is key to building that capability by managing defined categories and partnering with stakeholders to deliver value for money to support English Heritage's objective of financial sustainability.

This is an extraordinary procurement opportunity in an organisation like no other - you will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing activity within the Marketing, IT and wider corporate services categories to bring the best of the external market to English Heritage. With extensive commercial and procurement experience, you will develop and implement best practice sourcing, contract and supplier relationship management across your spend areas. You will help to deliver our current Supply Chain Strategy and feed into the next one - influencing and championing our approach to risk management, responsible procurement and compliance within our supply base.

You will join our Procurement Team at a pivotal moment, with much of the governance aspects of a greenfield function now in place (ranging from an embedded Procurement Policy, right through to a suite of contract templates), our focus is now on proactive procurement activity - driving positive and collaborative change in the way that English Heritage spends with third parties.

You will be based in the Swindon Office (with travel to London when required). The team all have hybrid and flexible working options, plus alternative English Heritage office locations are open for discussion.

You will be a credible procurement professional who will be able to quickly establish trust in your abilities. You will be someone who likes meeting and working with a wide range of people. You will enjoy bringing about change in a collaborative manner.
