Head of Data Product Management

About us

As a Head on the Data Product Management team at Dyson, you will bring cross-functional teams together to build world-class privacy products, used by millions of people globally. You will co-create, coach and collaborate with Engineers, Designers and partner with other functions, such as User Insights to define, prioritise and develop new products and features - end-to-end. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of components of our products and to contribute to product strategy across the company. You will help us define and hold a high bar for quality in all of our product development work.

About the role

• Partners with R&D stakeholders and Dyson leadership to develop a strategic roadmap for all customer-facing aspects of Dyson product, including data assets, ontology, Knowledge Graph / semantic search, data / computing / analysis platforms, and data-powered applications.

• Partner with the head of Dyson portfolio management, and the heads of the Dyson engineering functions, to facilitate joint planning, execute on that roadmap, help balance strategic development vs customer-facing deliverables, etc.

• Devise, track, and publicize metrics for the Dyson organization’s impact and performance.

• Hire, develop, and retain a talented team of Product Managers that understand the business areas, the Dyson capabilities available, how to translate needs into requirements aligned to standard frameworks (e.g. ontologies, engineering pipelines etc) to ensure the customers get what they need.

• Foster and create a highly motivated team, who thrive in an environment of VUCA and can build a trusted reputation to innovate and generate\create value on the get-go.

About you

• 10+ years of experience, including 4+ years in leadership roles related to product management (e.g., Head, Principal, Director, etc.).

• Experience leading features from inception through launch, including 2+ years of work on at least one product with a large, diverse user base (i.e., >500k weekly active users).

• Strong people and strategic leadership skills.

• Experience bringing together cross-functional teams to goal-set, roadmap, and resource projects.

• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience leveraging experiments and data to inform product decisions.

• Experience collecting and learning from user feedback.

• Excellent product intuition and taste.

• Aptitude for translating complex technical topics (e.g., privacy on the Internet) into simple product solutions.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

• 10+ years of experience leading projects defining, building, and delivering data products in engineering, consumer and\or technology industries.

• Be familiar with modern DevOps-first software development and release practices.
