About the Company:
Our client is a well-established and reputable law firm based in Birmingham. They are looking for a highly motivated and experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their IT team.

About the Role:
The 3rd Line Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for a wide range of IT systems, including servers, desktop and laptop hardware, and software applications. The successful candidate will be expected to troubleshoot complex issues, provide solutions and advice to clients, and help maintain the security and stability of the firm's IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 3rd line technical support to clients and other members of the IT team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Install and configure software, hardware and servers
  • Maintain and manage the firm's IT infrastructure, ensuring it is secure and stable
  • Ensure the timely resolution of incidents and requests, providing updates and status reports as required
  • Provide training and support to clients on software and hardware systems
  • Participate in project work as required
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in a 3rd line support role, including hands-on experience of server hardware and software
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, including VMWare and Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory
  • Experience of troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
