Mechanical Technician

Diamond Corrugated is a successful locally owned manufacturer of corrugated packaging. We will be celebrating 50 years in business this year and are seeking to recruit a talented engineer to join our operational team based in Derry City.

On offer is a full-time, permanent contract with a highly competitive remuneration package based upon your level of relevant experience.

Role Profile

Working as part of the internal operations team, and with internal stakeholders, you will develop an in depth understanding of the machines and processes to ensure the business is able to meet their day-to-day supply and service needs, whilst maintaining the highest Health & Safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance in a safe, timely and professional manner;
• contribute to the development of engineering processes and procedures to improve performance of machinery;
• plan and prioritise workload in conjunction with engineering and production management;
• identify and report on P&M faults and provide feedback and improvement suggestions;
• assist with installation of P&M;
• build relationships with operators and take part in training and development programmes;

Attributes/ experience required:

• Relevant qualification(s) in a mechanical or similar engineering discipline
• Time served in a mechanical maintenance engineering role
• Experience working on machinery repairs including pneumatic, hydraulic
• Ability to diagnose and solve problems
• Self-motivated and strong work ethic

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
