Job Purpose
The role is to assist Biomedical Scientists and other staff in performing tasks essential to the running of a diagnostic laboratory in Chiswick.

Diagnostics360 is a next-generation laboratory disrupting the status quo of diagnostics services by offering a high-tech, tailored and rapid service to partners across London and beyond. The laboratory currently provides PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2 and will shortly offer a large variety of blood sciences services.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting and supporting Biomedical Scientists in providing a professional effective pathology laboratory service
- Specimen reception management duties including, accurately labelling, sorting, preparing and sending away samples as required.
- Data entry using the laboratory information system (LIMS)
- Pre analytical processing of samples
- Preparing reagents and managing consumables
- Temperature monitoring of fridges and freezers
- Laboratory stock control and ordering
- Daily decontamination and cleaning of laboratory equipment and work areas
- Disposing of chemical and biological waste
- Keeping and filing records
- Answering telephone enquiries
- Upholding the values and mission of our B Corporation certification by actively participating in and contributing to our sustainability and social impact initiatives.
Requirements
- Work experience in a diagnostic laboratory
- Demonstrable technical skills in pathology disciplines and the use of laboratory information systems
- High attention to detail and ability to follow lab protocols
- Some theoretical and practical knowledge of pathology is desirable
- Good data input skills
