Position Overview & Specifications

About the role

We are looking for a Food Safety & Compliance Manager to support Deliveroo's Core and HOP businesses. The role will sit within the Regulatory Compliance team reporting to the Head of Regulatory Compliance and will be overseen operationally by the Food Licensing and Regulatory Manager.

You will support the Food Licensing and Regulatory Manager implement and maintain a framework to ensure compliance with applicable food and licensing regulations, partner with the business to effectively manage food safety and regulatory risks, support on new business initiatives and investigate & remediate issues of concern. This is a global role, operating from HQ.

What you'll be doing

We will need the successful candidate to work closely with the Food Licensing and Regulatory Manager and other members of the Core and on-demand grocery business (HOP) teams to:

  • Completing food safety, health & safety and fire safety audits at UK HOP sites to assess compliance with our policies and procedures.
  • Working closely with our global third party auditors and coordinating the external audit schedule.
  • Assisting with the production of appropriate global compliance metrics to track performance against our policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of global food safety and health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Promoting a safety culture and establishing robust procedures to enable adherence to standards and management of risks.
  • Providing advice, support and training to our UK HOP site teams on compliance requirements.
  • Creating and developing training tools and delivering training to upskill global teams
  • Supporting the business with regards to product withdrawals and recalls.
  • Handling food safety issues or enquiries and completing health and safety investigations where required.

Requirements

You'll need to have:

  • A formal food safety qualification and health and safety qualification (such as an accredited qualification in Environmental Health or a Level 4 Food Safety and Level 3 or 4 Health and Safety qualification).
  • Experience of compliance auditing within food businesses, and supporting follow up actions to drive compliance improvements.
  • Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures to strengthen compliance, react to new business initiatives or address changes in risk environments.
  • Good knowledge of UK and EU food safety and health and safety regulatory framework - knowledge of regulatory frameworks in Deliveroo's markets outside of the EU is a plus.
  • Experience engaging with or working within food regulatory authorities.
  • Experience leveraging technology to bring about process improvements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to visit our HOP sites in London (mainly) and around the UK.
