Cumbria Constabulary is recruiting a full-time permanent Crime Scene Investigator and applications are invited from both experienced and trainee CSIs. The successful candidate will be based at Carlisle police station but may be required to cover the whole county in some circumstances.

This CSI will work a 7-day rota which includes weekend working and out of hours standby duties. This is a demanding role, and the post-holder may be required to work extended hours of duty on a frequent basis.

The CSI will attend the full range of volume and major crime scenes (subject to the appropriate training). To carry out these duties, we are looking for a candidate with the ability to critically evaluate information, able to produce written reports with a high degree of accuracy and be able to communicate with a wide range of people, often in difficult circumstances.
