Position Overview & Specifications
The Courtyard by Marriott Keele is grown their team! Food and Beverage is what adds flavour to a stay! Guests love to enjoy their favourite drink and meal whether it’s with friends, family, colleagues or just on their own. To deliver a great guest experience you will prepare beverages and serve food in a timely manner, helping guests to have memorable experiences whenever and wherever they join us.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar, restaurant or coffee shop; promote drinks and food options and use up-selling skills to increase revenues
Ø Prepare beverages requested by guests using established pouring standards to provide a consistent product to the guests and to control costs.
Ø Take food orders and suggest upselling and bolt on items
Ø Monitor guest behaviour and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests.
Ø check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable
Ø Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety/service incident to the supervisor or manager on duty
Ø Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines
Ø Set up the bar, restaurant and coffee shop including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies. Perform all pre- and post-shift tasks, relating to the shift procedures.
Ø Complete tasks on cleaning schedule ensuring standards required are maintained.
Ø receive credit payments from customers
Ø Always be clean and presentable wearing the company issued uniform.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
Ø Being passionate about people and service
Ø Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol
Ø Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with guests, staff, cooks, and supervisors
Ø Ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling or serving of alcohol
Ø Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, etc.
Ø Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit
Ø Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Part-time hours: 8-24 per week
Salary: £10.84 per hour

Experience:
- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
