Cutting Room Operative

Permanent (37 hours per week) Based in Huddersfield

Monday to Thursday 8.00 to 16.30 Friday 08.00 to 13.00; Overtime available when required.

33 days holiday including Public Holidays.

Continental Sports: Established 57 years ago, we design, manufacture and install equipment for Sports Halls, Physical Education, Gymnastics and Trampolining including Trampoline and Ninja Parks.

Continental Sports is currently looking for someone to join our Engineering department as a Cutting Room Operative who can help with continued demand and improvements to our manufacturing services.

The successful candidate will need to meet the following criteria:

Key Responsibilities:

● Daily setting & operation of steel cutting machinery effectively.

● Reading route cards, cutting lists and conforming to all relevant quality specifications.

● Ability to use various pieces of Engineering measuring equipment to produce components accurately.

● Working with the engineering team leader to ensure the machines are run efficiently with optimum cycle times.

● Work & adhere to production schedules, efficiently and in a timely manner.

● Work effectively on his/her own, and as a team player at all times.

Key Skills:

● Organised, hardworking & efficient.

● Experience in an Engineering environment would be advantageous.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

● Handling and cutting a diverse range of steel based materials.

Continuous training will be provided to ensure there is a full understanding of the operational processes.
