Hours: 8.15 to 17.30, (Mon to Thurs.) 8.15 to 12.30 (Fri.)
The Company
Consilium Recruit are working with a world leader in drilling technology for cooling holes as applied to Jet Engines and Gas Turbines for energy production. Due to Growth, they are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join the team in a permanent position.
The Field Service Engineer Role:
- Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, calibration and repair on EDM, Laser and STEM equipment, used in the production of cooling holes for Turbine blades etc.
- Completing Preventative Maintenance tasks and provide training courses
- Carry out Axis alignments to ensure correct operation and functionality of the machines.
- Maintaining communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
- Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated.
- The role is 60% mechanical and 40% electrical biased, with some pneumatics.
- Ability to read circuit diagrams would be an advantage.
- Identifying and participating in sales opportunities such as new contracts, contract renewals and spare parts sales.
- 50% in field / 50% in office.
- Mostly UK assignments but may be asked to carry out jobs in Europe or the US.
- Typical travel and assignment would last no more than a week.
The Person
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns.
- Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Ability to align multi axis machines to high tolerances.
- Resourceful, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities. Able to work productively in a pressurized environment.
- Valid driving license
