Job Description:

We are a fast-growing startup in need of a highly motivated and skilled Logistics and Procurement Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing logistics and procurement activities, as well as a proven track record of successful supply chain management. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing startup and set up procedures from scratch.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the logistics and procurement activities of the company, including transportation, distribution, and inventory management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Negotiate and finalise contracts with suppliers and vendors, ensuring that all agreements meet the company's standards for quality, working conditions, cost, and delivery
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and vendors. Set up a preferred suppliers list and recommend changes to the procurement strategy as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels at our manufacturing partner in California to ensure that the company has sufficient supplies and materials to meet production needs
  • Analyse and report on key performance indicators, such as delivery times, quality, and cost savings
  • Source ad hoc components for R&D
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production and sales, to ensure that logistics and procurement activities align with overall business goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Indiamart and Alibaba is preferred
  • Prior experience in logistics and procurement is preferred
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional info:

This is a part-time role with a flexible schedule. While the exact number of hours per week is yet to be determined, you can expect occasional early morning communication with Asia and late evening communication with California.
