Outside Broadcast Camera Operator - Scotland

The salary range quoted covers a variety of camera roles. The actual starting salary will depend upon the skills, knowledge and experience demonstrated by the successful candidate.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We're looking for a Camera Operator to join our growing team at our Scottish base. The opportunity to work on a range of exciting Outside Broadcasts including Football, Motorsport, Boxing, Snooker, Pool, Cycling, Political debate shows, and many others!

ABOUT THE ROLE

The duties will primarily be on location across the UK and at our base in Scotland. When onsite, our Camera Operators are expected to be customer friendly with the client and balance the technical rig with managing more junior members of staff.

Offsite preparation and maintenance at our base are a requirement and should be managed accordingly to achieve a successful job onsite.

Superb attention to detail, a positive and sociable approach is essential.

MAIN DUTIES / DESIREABLE EXPERIENCE

· To be able to build and use cameras using both small and box lenses.

· To be familiar with the support mechanisms for both types of lenses.

· To be competent with handheld camera operation.

· To be familiar with both camera and lens menus.

· To be conversant with shot size and composition in different applications.

· To have sufficient knowledge of all types of camera and ancillary equipment used on OBs and to guarantee OBs (depending upon skills and experience).

· To be able to fault find problems.

· The ability to light a basic interview set-up.

· To be able to read and follow load sheets and manage cross loads.

· To be able to work independently and as part of a team.

(Desirable): To have experience of sliders, jibs and steadycam systems.
