Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a distinguished and leading South Wales firm of chartered accountants who are now looking to add an Accounts & Audit Senior to the team in their Bridgend office.

As an Accounts & Audit Senior you will be responsible for undertaking a varied role in which you will gain exposure to a wide range of clients from an array of business sectors.

The role will see you leading audit assignments from the initial planning stage through to completion as well as the preparation and review of complex year-end accounts for large limited companies, group structured entities, and not for profit businesses. The audit element of the role is likely to account for approximately 30-40% of the overall workload.

As a Senior you will be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development as they progress.

This prominent and forward-thinking regional firm are known for providing a consistently excellent level of service to their clients, whilst also being regarded as a fantastic place for individuals to develop their careers and experience due to the wide diversity of exposure they can offer.

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA Qualified or at the final stages of their studies and will have experience of working in practice. Prior experience of leading audit assignments is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare the audit plan and ensure it appropriately addresses audit objectives
Take an active part in the audit planning and fraud discussion to identify audit risks and appropriate audit strategy
Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion
Ensure planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives
Supervising & developing more junior members of staff
Accounts preparation for limited companies, groups structured entities, as well as some complex sole traders & partnerships
Preparation of corporation tax returns
Supervising junior members of the audit team

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified or Finalist
Experience of leading Audit assignments is essential
