Are you a customer-focused administrator with an eye for detail and a proactive approach to your work?

Our Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) is looking for an experienced individual to join the team in this Administrative Assistant role. As the first point of contact, you will be instrumental in creating a great impression of KMMS and providing a professional and efficient service to our visitors, students and staff.
Confident in your ability to respond to customer requests and to work on your own initiative, you will deal with a wide range of enquiries and tasks in this busy and rewarding role.

As Administrative Assistant you can expect to get involved in:

  • welcoming visitors, answering telephone calls and responding to emails, dealing with queries where possible and referring on where necessary
  • carrying out varied clerical duties to facilitate the smooth-running of the School, including dealing with post, taking in student coursework and using University systems
  • assisting with diary management and arranging/servicing meetings and events
  • undertaking ordering, procurement and financial processing tasks


What we are looking for in the right candidate:

  • GCSE level English and Maths or equivalent or other means of demonstrating a competent level of literacy and numeracy
  • strong customer service experience and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service
  • a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • good IT skills


KMMS opened to our first cohort of 108 pioneer students in September 2020. Our vision for KMMS is to create a new medical school for Kent and Medway that becomes a beacon for first-class medical education and research. The School will attract the most talented aspiring doctors from within the local community and beyond, offering training and development opportunities that will help to keep that talent in Kent and Medway.
