Barista/All Rounder

We are a very basic, old-school cafe for locals and students (and dogs).

No special skills are required except for dependability, an actual work ethic, and the ability to think ahead by at least 30 minutes (preferably up to 24 hours, if possible).

If you just want a job for beer money please apply at a much larger company that doesn't care if you are good (unless you ARE good and also just want beer money; it's your money; spend it how you like).

You will need to be (or get) proficient at coffee, loading a dishwasher, carrying food to tables, very basic kitchen/sandwich work, and stock management. Actually being friendly to the customers is also helpful, but not necessary if you can fake it. Multitasking and being aware of your surroundings/co-workers is way more important.

Shifts are somewhere between 6 and 8.5 hours. You shouldn't finish later than 5:30pm nor start earlier than 8am. You can wear whatever you want as long as it won't get you arrested in public. Pay is weekly, along with tips, which are divided equally among the staff (which is why you have to pull your weight; nobody wants to share money they earned with someone who didn't earn theirs). Free food on shift within reason. All the usual holidays, etc.

We just want a couple good, worthwhile members of staff to round out the group. If everyone is working at the same level then this is a super easy job for all of us and we can all enjoy it. If not it is a real slog. If you understand this from personal experience, please apply ASAP. If not, you might have been the reason everyone at your last job thought it was a slog.
