About us
Cafe Emm is a small community business in Northampton initially started by Emmanuel Church. We work with people who come to the Café to improve their wellbeing and help make others happier. Within Café Emm our targets are young families and the elderly.
Our aims are to:
Provide an environment where customers can feel they are safe, welcome and part of a community.
Help to build that community by providing a warm welcome to customers and running events to increase community participation and build community relationships.
Work with other volunteers to support the work of Emmanuel Group of Churches and Weston Favell Food Bank
We are looking for a hardworking, dedicated and empathetic individual to work with senior citizens in our community. The Support Worker is responsible for working with seniors and disabled to run regular events within the Cafe. . We are seeking someone who is compassionate, empathetic and has previous experience working with an elderly population. Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and physical support to patients with dementia and their families.
- Deal with the stigma of mental illness.
- Respect the confidences of those in the care team.
- Be compassionate and understanding toward family members of patients with dementia.
- Liaise with external sources such as Action for Happiness and Alzheimers Society to develop activies for Café customers
- Running regular weekly events
- Promote and Market the service to encourage participation from existing customers and to encourage new people to participate
- Ensure budgetary requirements are met, and information is available to complete grant monitoring reports
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months
Part-time hours: 15 per week
Salary: £11.00-£12.00 per hour

Experience:
- Alzheimer's care: 1 year (preferred)
- organising activities or events: 1 year (preferred)
