Social Value is a core government policy and has gained further importance following the Coronavirus pandemic. All suppliers to government organisation must now, in addition to their core competencies of delivery, focus upon additional levers of value. This is widely referred to as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), in short this means using the tools and capabilities of the organisation to help with the government’s ambition to build a more equal and opportunity driven society.

The Social Value Propositions Manager supports the design and delivery of a fit for purpose, interactive and continuously improving process to support the social value offers from BT in the context of public sector bids and invitation to tender responses.
What you’ll be doing
  • Assists the Senior Manager in architecting the social value strategy and partner engagement activities required to align to business outcomes.


  • Creates compelling social value propositions and encourages development, monitors progress, and implements improvements in ways of working, to benefit the social value narrative for the business.


  • Uses data and feedback to continually refine ways of working and produce updates and status reports on business success and losses.


  • Informs, along with the Senior Manager, of any new developments and ideas that may enhance the capability of BT to deliver social value.


  • Educates colleagues in social value and owns the production of update reports and stakeholder meetings to take feedback and lessons.


  • Ensures that social value thinking is embedded into each major social value bid response.

  • Social value experience and understanding of best practice and what is working in the market – experience delivering social value or working for a socially focussed organisation.

  • Able to challenge the norm, offer new ideas and drive change – able to demonstrate where you have made an impact.


  • Experience of and able to work to tight deadlines.
