£33,827 - £37,568 per annum based on 35 hours per week (plus Inner London weighting of £3,344 if applicable)

This role brings our impact and work to life through the Stories section of our website by creating engaging interactions with supporters on effective digital user journeys. You will do this through high-quality, emotional, authentic and creative digital content, demonstrating how we are the movement that connects human kindness with human crisis.

You will champion our tone of voice and digital content house style. You will lead on writing, editing, and creating Stories blogs for the website supporting a wide range of marketing, communications and social media campaigns and exciting digital projects.

A day in the life of a Digital Copywriter will involve:

  • Running and attending brainstorming sessions with creative teams and stakeholders to gather new content ideas.
  • Responding and managing content briefs from stakeholders and liaising with requests as appropriate.
  • Identifying gaps in our content and recommending new topics.
  • Following industry-related news and generating ideas around trending topics.
  • Representing the web content team in project/working groups to make sure our content is aligned with key messages, strategy and other channels, such as social media and email.
  • Ensuring existing content across Stories stays up-to-date and relevant.
  • Using analytics tools to regularly assess the effectiveness of Stories content to improve it.

To be a successful Digital Copywriter, you’ll need:

  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including managing senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with online content management systems.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics.
  • In-depth understanding of the implications of search engine optimisation, usability and accessibility for digital content.
  • Strong grasp and current knowledge of editorial, social media sites and monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of how multimedia content can enhance website user experience.
  • Ability to measure and evaluate the success of digital content and to plan for improvements.
  • Experience of working within the charity sector is also desirable.
