Do you have a passion and commitment for improving education and wellbeing for children and young people who have special educational needs?

This is an exciting post within the Medical Needs & Hospital Education Service which is based in our new S19 provision focused on educating and supporting the wellbeing of children and young people with special educational needs who are awaiting a school place. We are seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join our team of enthusiastic professionals.

You will:

To work under the direction of the the S19 Teacher in Charge and in partnership with the S19 teacher(s) and HLTA(s) tosupport children and young people in the S19 provision with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilitiesby undertaking work which enables access to learning for pupils with special educational needs as part of a teacher planned approach.

Promote learning and improve outcomes in line with the National Curriculum expectations and SEND Codes of Practice.

To work directly with individual CYP or groups with special educational needs and disabilities in or out of the learning environment to ensure that learning continues whilst awaiting a school place under the direction of the S19 teacher(s) and Teacher in Charge.

Please be aware that this post is working with pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs rather than within the Medical Needs & Hospital Education section of the provision.
