Sewing Machinist & Fabric Cutter

About The Role

The role of 'Sewing Machinist & Fabric Cutter' within the mattress factory is a key one in order to facilitate the smooth running of the factory. The job holder will initially report to the MD, Angie Curl.

Responsibilities

• Oversea the work flow as directed on the weekly P&T list
• Take product specifications and fabric choices from the customer’s works order form
• Prepare mattress panels and boarders via cutting and sewing to the products specification
• Prepare divan and bedstead base cases by cutting and sewing as directed on the works order
• All finished work will be fed to the factories senior mattress maker and upholster

Candidate requirements

• Reliable, conscientious worker able to produce work to time and consistently high standards
• Experienced user of flat bed sewing machines
• Excellent ability to measure and cut fabric panels to specification
• The ability to work unsupervised and efficiently organise your own daily work schedule

Salary: £6.95-£12.00 per hour

Application question(s):

• Experienced user of industrial sewing machines and fabric pattern and panel cutting. This may include having been a curtain maker, seamstress or even very keen home / DIY seamstress. Must have experience of using electrically powered sewing machines
