Production Director

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Production Director to join our Print board and oversee the operations of our Print Site. You will be working as a member of our board and reporting to the Managing Director.

Please note this is a board level role in a £100 million turnover business and are looking to accept applications from candidates with extensive experience in senior level positions and from a manufacturing background.

The Role:

• Create and define the strategy to grow and develop production within the Print division.
• Overseeing large projects including process changes and installations
• Build a strong and stable team with a focus on Culture, Quality and Health and Safety.
• Work with SLT to maximise productivity, efficiency, flow and output.
• Implement and drive cost saving initiatives.

Detailed operational tasks as part of this role:

• Responsible for health and safety across all production areas.
• Responsible for a large number of people, ensuring your people are engaged and happy in line with the companies' values.
• Responsible for the quality metrics being delivered through our robust quality management system.
• Ensuring jobs move through production in the most cost effective and efficient way.
• Working with the wider team to ensure we are focussed on business profitability.

The Candidate:

• Extensive experience leading fast moving teams.
• Experience developed in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience of working at a senior/board level in a rapidly growing business
• Comprehensive awareness and ownership of commercial metrics and responsibility.
• Track record of successfully managing multiple teams for example, Engineering, H+S, Quality, Production etc.
• Comfortable reporting and operating at board level.
• A strong attention to detail.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of the UK commercial print industry is preferred but not essential.

The Package

• Salary is competitive and will reflect the seniority of the role.
• 09:00 – 17:30: with flexible working hours
• This is an onsite role 5 days per week - Unit A, Brookfields Park, Manvers Way, Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham S63 5DR

The Company

Bluetree Group is the UK's largest online printer and in 2020, became the UK's first manufacturer of Type IIR Surgical masks. They have since continued growing their product range through the development of innovative Transparent masks and other PPE.

Bluetree exists to manufacture and sell high volume, premium products through investing in the latest technology and its highly skilled team. The manufacturer consists of two divisions, Bluetree Print and Bluetree Medical, which are both supported by a Central team.

In 2021, Bluetree Group acquired Doncaster- based luxury printer, Kingsbury Press, branching out into the publishing industry and has aims of expanding into packaging solutions in the future. Our combined office, production and training facilities are located in Wath Upon Deane which is located close to Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster.

Our state-of-the-art 165,000 square foot facility is just a 15-minute drive from either the M1 or A1M and boasts ample free on-site parking.
