Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Animal Keeper to join our team at Manor Wildlife Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and enrichment of our diverse collection of animals. They will also be responsible for maintaining the habitats, observing animal behaviour, and participating in education and conservation activites.

Responsibilities:
1. Daily care and feeding of a diverse collection of animals.
2. Observe animals for signs of illness or injury and report these to senior members of the animal team.
3. Clean and maintain animal habitats, ensuring they are safe and enriching for the animals.
4. Assist with the design and implementation of environmental enrichment programmes for the animals under your care.
5. Monitor animal behaviour and maintain detailed records for zoo management and veterinary staff.
6. Participate in public education programmes, including giving talks.
7. Contribute to the development and implementation of conservation programs.
8. Assist with the training of animals to facilitate management and veterinary procedures.
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for both animals and visitors.

Qualifications:
1. Degree in zoology, animal science, biology, or related field is preferred.
2. Previous experience in a zoo, aquarium, or wildlife park is highly desirable.
3. Knowledge of animal behaviour, diet, and husbandry practices.
4. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and working in all weather conditions.
5. Good observational skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, zoo visitors, and external partners.
7. Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
8. Commitment to animal welfare and the mission of the park.
9. A valid driver’s license is a plus
