About us

Been Coffee was founded in late 2021 by Martin, Sarah & Dan, with a view to offering an alternative to big brand chains and UHT milk coffee machines. We're located at a service station to the south of Derby, just off Toyota Island, however we want to keep growing and open more shops.

We are currently looking for someone to join our team as a Barista at our independent, family-run, fast-growing coffee shop.

We are looking for an infectious and fun person, who can instantly make connections with customers. We want to help you succeed, and we will provide all relevant training on-the-job.

We're just a small startup, the Directors are just three normal people having a go at making a great coffee shop brand (no corporates here!), and we're learning as we go.

The shop can be super busy, so we need someone who can act and respond fast to the requests of our customers and the needs of the day, and multi-task effectively.

Requirements

• 6 months experience in the hospitality industry, ideally in a cafe or coffee shop
• Ability to make barista coffee with some latte art skills
• Ability to travel to Derby & Burton Services, DE65 6DX
• Able to work most weekends and holidays

Also great if...

• You drink coffee!
• You have experience opening and/or closing a shop, and the various tasks involved in doing so
• You're free to work any day of the week, and are open to working long full-day 12-hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Be an excellent communicator, and be driven to help the shop succeed with an infectious personality
• Be hard working, organised, reliable and flexible
• Help the Assistant Manager and Directors with the smooth running of the shop
• Be able to open and/or close the shop when the rota requires, sometimes on your own
• Handle initial customer support issues and concerns
• Work most weekends, and quite a few bank holidays
