Veterinary Receptionist - Part Time

We are a growing practice and our staffing needs have increased, we have an exciting opportunity at our state of the art, independent vet practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic receptionist to join our amazing team on a part time basis.

As the first point of contact with our clients, we are hoping to find a friendly and approachable team member, who loves animals just as much as we do!

The position is 20 hours a week inclusive, ( a 3.5 hour day shift) presently this is on an alternating pattern with a week on early shift and then a week on the later shift, then repeated : Monday to Fridays and every other Saturday morning 9am – 12.30pm. Specific time patterns are negotiable (Shift pattern can be discussed). There is also the option to pick up more hours to cover sickness and holidays.

About you:

• Previous reception experience is encouraged, ideally veterinary - but not necessary
• General use of a computer - some Word and Excel experience a bonus
• Professional telephone manner essential
• Good communication skills
• Positive, helpful and pro-active attitude
• Ability to work independently using initiative (all training and advice will be supplied)
• Punctual and presentable

About the role:

• Booking in consultations
• Triaging phone calls and emails promptly
• Dealing with customer enquiries and requests including giving general advice regarding medications, and general enquiries (all training and advice will be provided)
• Communicating with clients, and other staff members
• Running front of house, stock control, sales
• Taking payments,
• Updating client records
• General administrative duties
