Sweeper Operative (HGV CLASS 2)

If you enjoy driving, have an eye for detail and take pride in your work and the local area, then this could be just the job for you.

You will be responsible for providing front line street cleansing services by operating a large rigid commercial Road Sweeper for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. Ideally, the candidate will have knowledge of this type of vehicle operation however we can provide training in this field. All candidates must hold a CLASS 2 driving licence. In addition, a certificate of Professional Competency, (CPC) is desirable although once again training can be provided.

You will be reliable, have a 'can do' attitude and a commitment to working safely. You’ll need to be highly motivated, as you will be working alone and as part of a team. It is important you are organised and able to take direction whilst having a proactive and flexible approach to work.

Market supplement of £433 per month (subject to review)

Key Requirements

• Operate equipment in accordance with experience and training.
• Hold a clean CLASS 2 driving licence.
• Able to carry out physically demanding tasks.
• Able to work safely within guidance and legislation.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
• You will work out of our Wade Road depot and your hours will include some weekend working on a rota basis.
