Position Overview & Specifications

QA Lead Technician

Salary: - £ 25,000 to £ 30,000 per year dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience

Permanent Contract

Working Pattern: Sunday to Thursday

Working Hours: 40 Hours per Week

8.00 am to 5.00pm

Some flexibility to working pattern to cover holidays as necessary and start and finish times based on production demands.

This role is predominately based in the climate-controlled environment of the production facilities.

About the Role

Working flexibly across the Technical and Production Departments at Hooton Street, you will be responsible for actively delivering and continuously improving the company’s Quality Management System.

You will also be responsible for:

· Daily coordination of the QA team ensuring day-to-day factory activities are completed in a timely manner and issues with the production teams are managed and appropriate actions are taken.

· Participating in customer visits and audits and conducting internal audits (GMP, traceability etc.) to ensure compliance ensuring that all visits and audits are correctly documented, necessary reports are prepared and any non-conformances or improvements are implemented.

· Responding in a timely manner to customer complaints and working collaboratively with Factory Management to ensure all complaints are thoroughly investigated and closed out with meaningful solutions.

· Provide production teams with effective trending of key data such as quality assessments to support continuous improvement.

About You

You will be a team player and have a hands-on/ “can do” attitude driving high levels of food safety and GMP standards.

The successful candidate must be able to develop and manage the quality management system and ensure there is an effective quality assurance system in place.

You must also have experience in managing internal and external audits (such as BRC and customer audits).

You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise and work to strict deadlines. You must also have excellent attention to detail.

Excellent IT and communication skills are an essential part of this role.

Skills and Qualifications you have

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality role within production manufacturing. (preferably food related).
  • Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
  • Level 3 HACCP qualification.
  • Certified Internal Auditor and a minimum of 1 years’ experience in managing and performing internal audits across all areas of the business.
  • Ability to take Food Safety Standards and create/update internal processes and procedures.
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Microsoft Excel, using formula’s and creating graphs.
  • Excellent Problem Solving and experience in managing any customer complaints including investigation, traceability and timely responses.
  • Good level of written and spoken English essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • A good level of numeracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent personal organisational skills.
