THE ROLE:
Axcis Education is proud to be operating on behalf of a well-respected SEND School, who provide dedicated support to pupils with MLD including ASC and Personal Care needs.
We would like to invite applications from caring and committed candidates to undertake the role of Personal Care Assistant. This is an important role within school, providing support to their young people who require assistance in the bathroom with personal care. As well as being able to understand the need for care and dignity, candidates must be good team players, have an attention to detail and be flexible in working across multiple sites if required. Previous experience in a similar caring type role is essential.

THE SCHOOL:
This is a Specialist Setting in the leafier suburbs of Ashton-Under-Lyne, who are constantly striving to create the best learning opportunities for each and every one of their pupils. They aim to provide a specialist, high quality, relevant and balanced education for pupils aged 11-16 who have moderate learning difficulties (MLD). They also provide tailored learning experiences for individual pupils’ social and emotional development (SEMH). Additionally, the school has a dedicated Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Base, where pupils are taught by specialist staff. All the children and young people at this school will have an Education Health and Care Plan.
The school boasts great specialist facilities, and a very dedicated and senior leadership team who are open to input from the staff who work 1:1 with each individual pupil. Therefore, this role would suit someone who is very passionate about helping have a positive impact on the educational journeys of young people who have thus far already been met with several challenges.

We are looking for people who will positively impact the lives of these young people. If you have a positive disposition, and would like to help develop the confidence and improve the learning journey of young people with SEND needs then it would be ideal if you had the following:

• A DBS on the update service (or a willing to buy one if you don’t have one, or yours is not currently on the update service)
• Previous experience of providing Personal Care.
• Experience of working in a residential, care or special needs setting.
• Be available full time on a long term basis.
