Vacancy: Electronic Bench Technician (IoT)
Astra Telematics are a leading player in the global IoT device industry. Our devices are used in a diverse range of vehicles and applications all over the world. We operate within a fast- paced market with rapidly changing technology and ever more demanding applications. We are currently seeking an Electronic Bench Technician to take responsibility for our repairs and technical support activities. Based at our office in Manchester (Trafford Park), the role is suited to an organised and methodical individual, with a passion for technology, and an academic qualification in electronics. There are opportunities to move into hardware or software development for suitably talented and ambitious individuals.
Essential Requirements:
- Attention to detail
- An organised working manner
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Knowledge of electronics and familiarity with schematics
- Use of handheld soldering-iron and hot-air soldering rework tools
- Logical thinking
- Problem solving
Responsibilities will include:
- Operation of our RMA system for authorising customer returns
- Inspection, testing and diagnosis of RMA returns
- Repair of RMA returns
- Technical support for our (non-technical) internal team and our clients
- Support the development team with testing new hardware and software
