About our client

Our client is a 3rd year Maths student studying his degree at the University of Derby. He has Cerebral Palsy, which affects his limbs and speech.

As written by our client...

“I am studying Maths degree at university. When I’m not working on my Maths I enjoy going out and socialising, whether that be pubs, cinema, going for meals or other general out and about activities, so P. A’s who are not only prepared to, but looking forward to, supporting me with the social aspect of student life is also important.

I have a very good sense of humour (a bit dry) and very sociable, I don’t take myself too seriously!

It's just important to me that all my care is undertaken in a discreet manor under my instruction - I just want to get it done so I can continue with whatever I'm doing; my personal needs shouldn't ever get in the way of living life.

I love watching football – all matches/competitions. I’m a big Wolves supporter for my sins.

I am very close to my family and have a lot of cousins who like to visit me on occasion.

I can talk a lot! But my CP does affect my clarity of speech but always prefer when people ask me to repeat myself rather than pretend to understand me. Once I get to know someone, they tend to tune into me better.

I use my laptop, mobile, iPad with my nose and chin so can always call My P.A. when needed. Just need someone to put in front of me on my bed.”
