We are currently recruiting for a Mess Manager to be a part of our integral team in Marne Barracks, Catterick Garrison DL10 7NP

What you'll be doing

Efficient management of the Mess which caters breakfast, lunch and dinner for mess members and accommodation for live-in members.

• Managing your team, making sure the best service is available to our customer whilst the unit is open
• To oversee a smooth day to day running of the mess’s
• Organizing day to day hospitality functions and dinners
• Motivating and leading your team, leading by example
• Provide excellent customer service to the clients and deal with complaints effectively and efficiently.
• Efficient management of functions, hospitality, and events
• Ensuring that we deliver high quality customer service to the mess members and other military personnel

Experience*
*

• Experience of running high volume hospitality
• Previous operational experience working within a mess, contract catering, hotel or restaurant environment
• Must be able to show good leadership skills, this role would suit someone looking to move up the management ladder
• Good financial awareness and knowledge in managing budgets and growing sales
• Previous experience in functions and events management and have a deep appreciation and respect for traditions
• Good PC skills
• Excellent numeracy skills; strong written and verbal skills
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 – desirable but not essential as training is provided
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation
