Trainee Management Accountant

Recruiting for a degree educated Accounts Executive.

We are a private jet operator based in Glasgow, East Kilbride. Our head office is where all the accounts are collated for the company as well as this we also own a Manufacturing shop fitting business and are looking to collate the accounts from one site as well as be able to help assist in collating the accounts for the airline business.

A diverse role as it involves two very different businesses. As well as this we also have a business based out in Malta, where we also produce management accounts in Glasgow.

The role involves, assisting a busy accounts team in the day to day running of the department as well as assisting in collating accounts for our sister company, Accounts will be collated from one site but the role may involve visiting the second site on a weekly basis and working with the staff there.

Key Responsibilities

Collate management accounts under guidance of finance director. Deal with collating spreadsheets for the payroll and liaising with the payroll company. Run the day to day purchase ledger and sales ledger as well as management WIP projects.

Help assist with day to day running of accounts in the airline side of the business as well as be involved with the Maltese company. Purchase ledger – be able to be involved in both companies.

• Sales Ledger – raise invoices in both companies and be able to assist with flight billing as well as owners billing
• Cashflows – help assist in managing the cashflow for both businesses
• Manage bank accounts and report balances
• Payment runs – be involved in the weekly payment runs for 3 companies as well as have experience in dealing with multi-currency
• Reconcile credit cards – to be able to match the back ups against statements
• Vat returns
• CIS returns
• Bank reconciliations
• Tax work e.g APD tax,
• Collate reports
• Collate management accounts
• Help collate board reports

As we use two different account systems we are looking for someone that is knowledgeable and computer literate who is able to build reports that we can download information into excel from our accounting system. Systems that we use are Sage and Info Sunsystems – knowledge on both systems would be an advantage.
