Early Years Educator

We are currently working with a lovely nursery in Dulwich who are looking for an energetic and motivated Early Years Educator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and caring environment for young children, as well as teaching and developing their skills in a range of areas. The position requires excellent communication and organization skills, as well as a commitment to providing the highest quality of early years education and care.

Salary: £25,000 - £26,500 PRO RATA

Position Summary

The Early Years Educator will be responsible for providing a safe and stimulating environment for young children, as well as teaching and developing their skills in a range of areas. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to providing the highest quality of early years education and care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an appropriate curriculum for young children, in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Create and maintain a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow.
  • Encourage children to engage in active learning and problem-solving activities.
  • Provide individualized attention and support for each child, in order to meet their specific needs.
  • Observe and assess children's development and progress.
  • Encourage children to express their feelings and discuss their own ideas.
  • Maintain records of children's development and progress.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children.
  • Communicate with parents and families about their children's development and progress.
  • Plan and lead activities and playtime.
  • Organize and lead educational activities, including field trips and other special events.
  • Work with other educators and staff to create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Work with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Nursery Nurse or Childcare.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with young children (desired)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and helping them to reach their potential.
  • A valid DBS check.
